Data sheet AA5052
General properties
Aluminium-magnesium alloy, typical of aerospace for welded structures, whose main properties are high resistance to oxidation and corrosion in general; mechanical strength is not very high, cold formability is good; fusion weldable.
This alloy shows very good toughness both at room temperature and at low temperatures.
Generally used in form of sheet.
Ex stock the following tempers are available
0/H111 (maximum formability)
H32 (trade off between formability and strength).
Other tempers can be delivered on demand.
Typical applications
Skins, pressure vessels, tanks and trucks, fuel reservoirs, shipbuilding, plates, wheels, cryogenic applications, applications for which moderate static strength and good fatigue strength are required.
Parts to be embodied into welded structures.
